HISTORY

Established in 1957, J+J Flooring Group is a leading manufacturer of commercial specified flooring. With our two brands – Invision broadloom and modular carpet and Kinetex textile composite flooring – we provide a range of product and service solutions to meet the needs of our customers in the corporate workplace, education, healthcare, retail and hospitality sectors.

That guiding ethic continues today as J+J Flooring Group strives to positively impact our associates, customers and community on a daily basis. By putting our people first, we produce products with pride, provide value to our customers and make a difference in our community. Our commitment to our associates and their families, as well as our larger community, requires J+J Flooring Group to provide gainful employment and economic development.

In 1967, J+J Flooring Group shifted its exclusive focus to commercial broadloom carpet with an emphasis on value and performance. Expanding into the high-end and modular sector, J+J Flooring Group acquired Invision Carpet Systems in 1994, and J&J Commercial and Invision were merged into a single brand and sales team in 2003 to form J+J/Invision. Since then, J+J/Invision has grown to one of the most well respected and most specified brands in the commercial carpet industry.

In 2010, J+J Flooring Group purchased Templeton Hospitality Carpet located in Dalton, Georgia. Templeton, established in 1974, manufactured and supplied carpet to the hospitality market segment. The acquisition of Templeton Hospitality significantly expanded the resources of J+J Flooring Group to offer the many manufacturing amenities; including fiber extrusion, yarn processing, broadloom and modular finishing.

In 2013, J+J Flooring Group introduced Kinetex textile composite flooring to the marketplace. Created as a unique floor covering alternative to hard-surface products, Kinetex encompasses an unprecedented range of performance attributes for retail, healthcare, education and institutional environments. In addition to its human-centered qualities and highly functional design, Kinetex offers a reduced environmental footprint compared to traditional hard-surface options.

In 2016, J+J Flooring Group joined Engineered Floors, LLC. Based in Dalton, Ga., Engineered Floors is a privately held carpet producer founded in 2010 by Robert E. Shaw. The company, which employs more than 2,800 people, produces stain-resistant and colorfast solution dyed nylon and polyester fiber and carpeting for residential replacement, new home builder, multi-family and main street commercial applications. We believe true sustainability requires full attention to the potential impacts of every aspect of our business. Like other leading companies, we gauge our progress by measuring our environmental and social performance with as much stringency as our financial performance.

On a day-to-day basis, we manage sustainability through our Campus Environmental Team. Guided by our executive group and under the leadership of our Director of Sustainability, the team includes representation from key business areas to assess sustainability performance, opportunities and progress. Each Campus Environmental Team representative also holds responsibility for initiating tactical sustainability efforts across his or her respective business unit — initiatives that come together under the umbrella of EnAct® – our enterprise-wide environmental action program.

We have never made a big deal about what we do because we feel that being environmentally conscience is an obligation, not a marketing differentiation tactic. Putting our people first also means looking to the future and taking care of our endowment of natural capital so these resources can be enjoyed by future generations.

J+J Flooring Group considers conservation at the core of sustainability. Preventing excessive or inefficient use of natural resources and the preservation and protection of the environment is the foundation of our environmental stewardship. This is the inspiration for our Environmental Action Program (EnAct®).

Conservation is an integral part of the day-to-day conduct for all of our associates.

As responsible stewards of the environment, we believe in using all resources as efficiently and judiciously as possible — prioritizing conservation and consumption reduction before recycling or reuse. With conservation at the heart of our sustainability philosophy, finding alternatives for (and preventing the excessive use of) valuable resources is the basis of our approach to environmental impact management.
