Hi! I’m Mike Mores, Director of New Business Development in our Manhattan office. Scott Rice has had a presence in Manhattan for around three years, and I joined the team in January of this year.
Manhattan’s business climate is thriving and showing continued growth. The next time you’re visiting the Little Apple for a football game or other event, here’s a few other things you might wish to give a look:
CivicPlus:
This gleaming new building is a crown jewel in Manhattan’s revitalized downtown district. The five-story building, four of which are home to CivicPlus, was outfitted by Scott Rice. Steelcase furnishings highlight the open concept design, and most employees have now moved in.
Vanier Football Complex:
Scott Rice is actively working to secure the business for this next phase in KSU Athletics’ master facility plan. The $65 million project has been privately funded, with completion scheduled as early as August 2015. Not too shabby for the only D-1 university in the state with a Top 25 football program. Aggieville:
It’s the center of everything, having just celebrated its 125th birthday a couple of weeks ago. If you went to K-State, a few of the old standards remain, but you’ll find plenty of new energy in fresh business arriving to the scene. My pick? Don’t miss the Jesse Tyler Ferguson- endorsed plate of $7 nachos at Wahoo Fire and Ice on his recent visit with Eric Stonestreet.
Kansas Department of Agriculture:
A new building in a new city brings plenty of change, having brought their headquarters from Topeka to Manhattan. Sitting atop North Manhattan Avenue in the K-State Research Park, their new three-story building has all offices and conference rooms furnished by Scott Rice. Downtown:
New energy and growth is visible everywhere you turn on Poyntz Ave. and the surrounding streets. While the restaurants and retail you’ve come to love about downtown are still present, they’re updating their looks, while newcomers to the scene are making the district a home to work and play. Upcoming highlights include a pub by Tallgrass Brewery, which has called Manhattan home for more than five years.
K-State:
Campus is abuzz with remodels, renovations and new construction projects. At least three of the colleges within the university are undergoing major building projects, which means the construction workers almost number the amount of students on campus. The College of Engineering is adding on, while new buildings for the College of Architecture and College of Business will adjust the campus map significantly in the next couple of years.
